Whoop! Whoop! This time our reason to go to Florida was much more exciting. We had to be in Tampa for June 10th, so we made an Orlando trip out of it. I wasn’t on meds this past week, so I was feeling good. Getting to see your kids see characters they see on TV in real life and watching their eyes light up is priceless. It was REALLY easy not to think about stupid cancer this week because I was too mesmerized by watching my boys.
Now, I would like to say, if you are doing Disney with a 4.5 year old and a 1.5 year old, bring HELP! Bring a sitter or bring your parents (if they are amazing and helpful like mine). Mike and I said several times, “Thank goodness my parents are here to help us!” We left in the morning and didn’t return until midnight each day. The boys would fall asleep on Mike and I and my parents would be in charge of the strollers and bags. We tackled Sea World, Disney Springs, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom again, Hollywood Studios and hit Magic Kingdom one more time all within 6 days. We rode buses, the monorail, the ferryboat, and we loved all of it. Baker definitely had some challenging moments where he was hot and tired and just wanted to be held…in the air conditioning…but overall, they both handled it all well. We ate plenty, but I’m not sure that we ate much that was healthy. I weighed in 3 pounds heavier at my doctor’s appointment, so clearly I didn’t eat well! It’s fine though because vacation is all about having fun and being stress free which is exactly what we did.
