#Goals

This is a goals list I made for the Summer of 2005.

I had to have written in the Spring of that same year. Thinking back to who I was back then I didn’t know much but I knew what I wanted. I put it down on paper. I told them to my closest friend in Georgia, I took them out of my heart putting it out there to the universe. Most importantly I offered them up to God.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:3‬ ‭

In 2005, I was single, I liked my job, but not satisfied (I was the athletic trainer at Mill Creek splitting time in a physical therapy clinic and going out to the school) but not yet teaching…

Ashley and I were not dating but our friendship was solid. I told her my goals, my passion… I told her that I couldn’t achieve them in Georgia, told her I would probably head back to Illinois. Little did I know that God had me exactly where He wanted me. I know God worked through her to help me see what opportunities I had and to achieve these goals (and make many new ones).

There are some things on this list I didn’t accomplish or at least not the way I envisioned.

God may have said no or just not yet, I’m not sure. But what I do know is I (we) can’t accomplish the things we need to without putting it out there for God and everyone to see. You still have to do the work, but the plan and the steps to achieving that plan will be laid out for you by God. He will put the people in your life to help you accomplish those goals.

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭

If 2020 had left you feeling stuck, I challenge you to make your goals for 2021 then share them with others and most importantly God. Because if no one knows about them, how can they help you achieve them?
