Reality Check
Reality Check

Here’s the truth…I’m out of shape.  Lots of moms fall into this reality.  I have always vowed that I wanted to stay in shape and not let myself go, even after kids.  I’m thin (which I’m thankful for), but I’m so incredibly out of shape that it’s pitiful.  I have been trying to work out more often, and while I’m peddling away on the elliptical, I’m lucky to go 25 minutes and max out at a level 5.  When I’m working out to a Pop Sugar video, I often find myself doing the modification instead […]

A smile is the best makeup?!
A smile is the best makeup?!

I don’t know that I agree with this statement.  Yes, a smile is amazing and can work wonders, but the best makeup is probably in a skinny tube that has a brush that screws into the top, called mascara.  I think a better phrase would be “A smile is the best accessory.”  Unless you consider some beaded bracelets as the best accessory, then it could be a toss up!  In all seriousness, I do think a smile goes a long way.  It goes a long way when you simply smile at a stranger, or smile […]

My therapy is crafting
My therapy is crafting

I frequently catch a crafting bug, and it is anything from sewing new pillow covers, monogramming something, or making new bracelets.  You walk around my house and spy evidence of my crafting in every room.  Hopefully it’s all in good taste, but honestly, who’s going to tell me otherwise?! Michaels had a 70% off green label beads (+ a 15% off teacher discount = a small victory dance), and I couldn’t get to Michaels fast enough!  It was only a 2 day sale, and I was definitely planning my day around getting to Michaels to […]

Just for Laughs
Just for Laughs

I am not a huge selfie fan.  It doesn’t mean that I don’t take the occasional selfie here or there, but I find it sad that people have to take selfies and post them and wait for people to “like” them or comment on how great they look.  Let’s be honest, they probably took 20 selfies before they decided on the one they approve of AND slapped the most flattering filter to make their duck face look on point.  Please!  Who has time to take 20 pictures, edit, crop, etc and wait on social media […]

Round 5, already?
Round 5, already?

Why does it seem like my 2 weeks off is shorter than my 2 weeks on?  I’m sure this is how life goes.  “Time flies when you’re having fun,” and I can tell you taking meds for 2 weeks ain’t a bucket of fun!  Thank the Lord (and Baby Jesus…shout out to Ricky Bobby) that each round has gotten easier to handle, so I’m hopeful that Round 5 will prove no different. We had a great weekend with friends in town from Chicago, which was a nice distraction.  Today I was a dummy and forgot […]

Painting a {perfect} picture…
Painting a {perfect} picture…

We want to be good at everything!  We all post pictures on social media that show just how great life is.  Seriously- no one posts pics where they feature their muffin tops, weird smiles (not the funny ones, but the awkward ones), kids melting down and the house looking a complete toddler tornado disaster.  {NOTE:  The pic I posted with this post is a loving collage of all pictures I pulled from my “Delete” folder.} We get to pick and choose what we want to feature on our social media accounts, but sometimes it creates this […]

4th of July is upon us!
4th of July is upon us!

Independence Day really is an amazing holiday full of cooking out, enjoying the summer, being with friends and family, and of course celebrating this amazing country we call, ‘Merica!  I have never lived anywhere else, so I am confident I don’t appreciate how truly amazing our country is compared to other countries, but I do love me some U-S-A!  I’m not sure if it’s the combination of the summer Olympics approaching or if it’s all the medical crap that’s been going on, but this year I feel especially patriotic.  We got to participate in my […]
